At Lutheran Family Service, we believe it is a privilege to respond to
God's calling by reaching out in love to all who need His love and care.
The need in Iowa is great:
 |
people are lonely; |
 |
families are falling apart and having problems relating to one another;
|
 |
people of all ages are struggling with depression, anxiety and grief;
|
 |
men, women and children suffer from physical, emotional and sexual
abuse; |
 |
children are troubled and confused; |
 |
teens are experiencing unplanned pregnancies; |
 |
childless couples are seeking to adopt as a way to build forever
families; and |
 |
church and community groups are looking for ways to uplift and support
families and healthy relationships. |
Lutheran Family Service of Iowa has been caring for families since 1901,
and employs professionally trained pastoral counselors and clinical social
workers who are committed to serving Christ through their work with these
individuals and families. LFS provides care to all people, regardless
of their church affiliation or membership and sets fees based on a sliding
scale determined by income and current life situations.
The generous financial and volunteer support of individuals, churches,
corporations and foundations makes the ministry of Lutheran Family Service
possible by helping to make up the difference between what a family can
pay and the cost to provide services. This partnership in mission provides
Iowans of all ages the opportunity to find hope, help and healing to better
enjoy the life God gives.
Thank you to all of the people and organizations that make this mission
and ministry possible!
Volunteers are a very important part of the Lutheran Family Service
ministry. Thank you to all of the people who have contributed their time
and resources to help promote or raise money for the ministry of LFS.
A special thank you goes to Chuck Abrams of VirtualCreative, Inc. and
Greg Beaupre of Beau & Arrow Creative Co., both from Minneapolis, for
developing brochures, ads, posters and other materials to promote the
services provided through LFS. And thanks to Jeremy Isaacs, of DMA Consulting,
Chicago for designing and developing this web site.
