People experiencing similar life situations often gain valuable insight
into their own life by talking with others who have "been there, done
that." Support groups provide a way for people with similar life experiences
to interact together. Members learn there are others who understand what
they feel and are able to offer encouragement.
Examples of support groups LFS facilitates include:
 |
Divorce Care. For those experiencing
divorce or separation, this is one way to deal with the pain of the
past and a way to look forward to rebuilding the future. |
 |
Living Water. For wives of
pastors, as an opportunity to encourage each other in their roles
of ministry support persons. |
 |
HIV/AIDS Support Group. For
individuals who are suffering from HIV or AIDS and their family members
in Iowa, to find support and strength by sharing challenges, accomplishments,
tears and laughter. |
 |
Clergy Consultation Group.
For parish pastors to have a place to share, consult and discuss the
many issues that they daily face. |
